A birthday, a busy week, and surgery cancelled
You know how some weeks are so busy they just fly by? Well, this week was so busy, yet seemed to last for roughly 9658 days! Ha! First up, O’s surgery Friday was cancelled at the last minute. We had spent a lot of time preparing and gearing up for the surgery - had to organise my parents to take E to and from school, rearrange work schedules, which meant I had to do an extra school pickup on a different day, etc etc. And then O’s mild cold, which he had had for about 10 days,

Blog is 1, and a few updates
A few weeks ago was the first birthday of this blog! For some reason I thought it was late March, but when I checked, my first ever blog post was actually March 1st, 2024 . Finally making progress
WELL. It’s been quite a fortnight , trying to a) catch up on an increasingly overwhelming workload at work, b) tame our house that got out of control during the cyclone scare, c) manage extra kids stuff including medical appointments - all while battling some mood and energy issues that have meant I have NOT felt myself. Overall, no major disasters have occurred that would explain why this past two weeks have felt SO hard, to the point where I couldn’t even blog. I think it

The suns out!
Very happy to report that it stopped raining Monday afternoon and the flood waters mostly receded overnight so we could all return to work and school on Tuesday. Sunshine on my Tuesday lunch break Monday was basically a screen free-for-all for the kids. I did some work but was still quite distracted. By maybe 3 or 4 it finally stopped raining. It had rained heavily for basically 24 hours straight, and we got at least 350 mm. Al and E were able to get out of the driveway by ab

Here comes the rain
Its 6am Monday morning here, and after being confident yesterday that today we would be all back to work and school as normal, after 12 hours of torrential rain, flash and river flooding means this we will have at least O at home, and maybe E too. Sigh. I just got the text from O's Kindy that they are closed today because access is cut off due to flood waters, and at this stage I'm not even sure if we'll be able to get out of our property as the small creek the runs under our
