Halloween, illness and hello November!

It’s been over a week since I posted! This wasn’t planned but life gets in the way sometimes, hey.

Here are some a random collection of updates from the last week:

Halloween was fun! There were 3 Halloween related activities which was a lot (especially in Australia). E had her second Scout meeting which was a Halloween themed night. She loved it. Then Thursday night the 31st our local small town museum put on a Halloween event,

which was really fun. It was an appropriately stormy night and yet so many people came.

Our skeleton!

The haunted house- (well, room!)- was fun

Then Saturday night we did our little trick or treating tradition with our neighbours, where the kids from our street and parents visit a few local houses for trick or treating, followed by a gathering at our neighbours house. It was really fun! E dressed again as a skeleton, O dressed with… a Christmas reindeer shirt and dinosaur hat. All week he’d wanted to be a cat with a cat ear headband - perfect. And then come Saturday- nope! You do you, kid!

My neighbours carved this pumpkin- how cute.

Unfortunately, on Sunday I was feeling rotten. I thought maybe it was the extra beer (and no water!) I had consumed Saturday night, which no doubt didn’t help. But my parents were sick over the weekend, and by Monday morning it was clear it wasn’t a hangover. I got halfway to work, felt light headed, and had to drive home again. Luckily I was able to rest up, and by this morning I’m feeling better (though still a little tired, although both kids were restless last night and woke me up over night, so that didn’t help).

Last week I finished the Cool Bloggers Walking Challenge for October (Full recap of all participants’ final week on Elisabeth’s blog). My favourite walk last week was while E was at scouts. There is a lovely creek nearby I enjoyed at dusk.

The local, harmless yet GIANT huntsman spiders were also enjoying the great outdoors.

There were also more lake walks and kangaroo sightings.

Thanks again to Elisabeth for organising the walking club!

Finally, it’s November! October was a good month without any travel, November promises to be busy with 2 interstate trips and lots of school activities, as well as O’s birthday. It will be a lot, but fun! Here we go…

Did you celebrate Halloween? Is November a busy month?

OMG THOSE SPIDERS ARE HUGE. They would terrify me even if they are harmless. I am so afraid of spiders!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well! That sucks! But your Halloween sounded wonderful. I’m wishing you some uninterrupted sleep!!

E looks so cute in her Halloween costume. Sounds like you had a fun Halloween. :) I loved Elisabeth Cool Bloggers Walking Challenge and seeing all the pictures from around the globe from people who participated. When I saw your photo of the huntsman spiders, it reminded me of the time when I visited Hawaii and encountered one of those INSIDE the house that I was staying at. Needless to say, I had to get someone to take it outside. I know they're harmless but they're so HUGE! Eek!

Ah yes in Australia they often come inside too. You have to get a glass and piece of cardboard to catch them and put them outside (and be fast - they scamper!). My husband catches them in HIS HANDS - no thanks! Even as an Aussie that’s too far for me. Ha!
