After a whirlwind of To Do's and prep Monday and Tuesday, I arrived yesterday to Adelaide and have settled into my accommodation, ready to start my Masterclass today! Hard to believe its actually happening.

My plane window view
The week before I had felt totally overwhelmed and down about work/life responsibilities, and even had thoughts that maybe I needed to make some changes to cope better. And then my hormones changed, and this trip happened, and suddenly life was totally do-able again. HA! O was pretty upset a couple of nights ago when he realised I was going for 6 whole nights. 'Mum, that will take too long! I want to come with youuuuu,' he wailed between tears. But by the next day he'd adjusted, and was actually fine the night before I left, which I was grateful for. E is old enough, where her attitude was that she'll miss me, but 6 nights its actually not long, so its fine. Hooray.
Al was very kind driving me early to the airport (we left before 6am), and his parents kindly stayed with us the night before so we could let the kids sleep, and they would get them off to school. There was already a little bit of traffic, but I accounted for that, so I still arrived in perfect time, there were no lines through security, and I had time for a coffee and a breakfast smoothie, as well as wondering through a bookstore, before boarding. The flight was on time, the family beside me on the plane were really considerate, my on board snacks were yummy, and I just enjoyed the peace and quiet of travelling solo.

We touched down after 2 hours to a sunny, mild late autumn day, and because I'd only packed a carry on and backpack, I was able to easily catch the bus into town and grab some lunch while I waited for my accommodation to be ready for check in. I found a Vietnamese place and had a delicious pork and rice noodle salad with lots of veggies, herbs and nuts. My cabin was ready early (I've hired a self-contained little cabin in a centrally located caravan park), so I worked out my next bus trip, and then caught the bus. My cabin is lovely! Spacious (well for one person particularly), modern, a fully equipped kitchen, heating and airconditioning. I took a long walk in the afternoon to get grocery supplies and a bottle of wine, and admired all the local parks and gardens (I'm staying right near the botanic gardens in Adelaide and its a very pretty area). There are also a lot of old houses with sandstone brickwork in this neighbourhood, which I find so pretty.

Some local street art
Anyway, by the time I got back it was later in the afternoon. I had some snacks, did some reading, listened to a podcast, watched some of my favourite YouTube videos, and a bit of TV. I made myself a salami, hummous, fetta and salad wrap for dinner from my supplies, had a glass of wine, and went to bed early. It was such a quiet, peaceful night. I actually ran out of things to do! I woke up overnight freezing though - I'm definitely not in South East Queensland anymore. Luckily I brought some warmer PJs and found an extra blanket, and then I was cozy until morning.

My main activity last night.
And now here we are. I've had my coffee, and after I post this, I'll be having breakfast and heading to my first day of my Masterclass. I'm very glad I had yesterday to settle into Adelaide, and now I can head to my first day, a bit nervous and excited, but without having to rush. I'll be back to report back later in the week.
I hope everyone is having a good week so far!

I am so excited for you! I hope the masterclass is going well and you're having the best time! That cabin looks so cozy, too.
