Now all my May deadlines and stressors are past, looking forward to a different feel in June.

Took this photo last week. Hopefully June will involve some beach walks

I have a few work deadlines (marking and a conference presentation to prepare), but also some longer stretches of deep work time, giving me a chance to move my writing of research papers forward.

Events:

3 day work conference in Sydney (presenting)

E’s 8th birthday

A day off for me but not the kids

Start of the winter school holidays

Work goals:

Research article progress (1 re-submitted, 1 submitted, 1 fully drafted)

Prepare for and enjoy conference

Finish marking/moderating for my course

Personal goals:

Organise a couple of catch ups with family & friends in Sydney

Regular exercise (walk & possibly gym)

Re-start regular reading

Regular blogging (2 x per week)

Plan a fun “shouldless” day

Family goals:

Plan a fun birthday for E

Plan and book E’s vacation care activities

1 x Date night with Al

Declutter/tidy kids play room.

Spend more time in our yard now the weathers mild

I’m honestly really looking forward to June! Anyone else made some June plans? Is it looking busy or a little more relaxed?

Happy Monday all!

I’m glad your blog is fixed so I can read it again! Yay!

Your June plans sound lovely! Not sure what the climate is like for you - is it super hot since you mention going outside more now that it’s mild? Know Australia has a huge range of climates!

I’m working on June plans. April and May were pretty difficult months overall so June feels like a fresh start (although how are we already 8 days in?!?) We are awaiting the arrival of a new nephew or niece any day so that’s the biggest excitement for the month, with a planned camping trip as the second most exciting event.

Yes thank you for alerting me about my blog issues! I do live further north in Australia (in Southern Queensland), which is subtropical - though sometimes it feels pretty tropical to me. It has been a very hot, humid, rainy summer, so enjoying the dry, sunny, mild winter now.

Yay for a fresh start for June! A new niece or nephew and a camping trip sounds like two great things to look forward to :) And here's to less stress than April and May (for us both).

That beach photo is gorgeous!! I am excited for June as it means nicer weather! And I am not traveling for work! We have some fun family plans, too. We are going ‘camping’ at a cabin in a state park. It’s a way to dip our toe into camping before really committing to it/buying a bunch of stuff. Then later in the month I am going to Chicago with Will for a short 3-night trip. We will do some sightseeing and see family in the area.

Sounds like a wonderful June ahead! Lovely mix of nice weather, some family travel, and no work travel hooray. I think a cabin is a great idea. We’ve dipped our toe into camping last year with two nights in a tent at a caravan park with amenities! It was fun but I really think camping is easier with older kids!
