Quick recap of the rest of our trip, which was great! After the morning at the splash park and bouncy pillow, we went back to the hotel for a lunch of sandwiches and fruit, then my parents joined us for a cup of tea in the hotel, and then we headed down to the pool/spa area for the kids to swim and my parents to get lunch. E jumped straight in, and even O found that the spa was his thing, in a way the splash park wasnt. Hooray!
That spa was hot! And the kids loved it.
We had drinks and lunch by the pool, and chats while watching thd kids play in the water. It was lovely.
E said “Take a photo of me and Nana”, and then this is the pose she took for the photo. 😂
O and I headed up for a nap in the hotel mid afternoon, while my parents stayed with E, and then Al joined them too for swim after work. After a long, glorious nap, O and I woke up, and headed down to join the crew. At about 5 my parents headed off, and we headed to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner. Al and I had tacos and the kids had.., fish and chips. Oh well, one day they’ll discover the joy of exotic food.
A photo E got me to take in the restaurant and she decorated it with the heart.
After some TV back at the hotel, we had another early night, and the next morning we did another swim, water-side walk, and splash park visit before check out. The kids had one last ice cream.
Al headed off to work, and I checked us out (painless as we’d previously packed the car), and we drove home. E was sad, she wanted to stay longer, O was happy, that was long enough for our little homebody.
Overall, it was a great mini break. Al and I agreed we’d definitely stay there again. Next time for a few nights, but I’d want to stay in a two bedroom rather than family suite, which is just one room with two queen beds (fine for two nights but not longer).
Now back to work today, and my parents in law also arrive today for a week. Hope everyone has a good week ahead!
What a fun break for all of you. Sharing a room is tough. We have not done that before as we have only stayed in VRBO type of places when traveling with the kids. I feel like in the next couple of years we could share a hotel room, though. It’s nice to have that option since it cuts the cost but it is a pain when everyone doesn’t sleep well!
Your kids must have had the best time : )
Hi Sophie, it looks like you had a great time. I live just around the corner from this resort at GB! What are the chances...! If you would fancy catching up IRL sometime let me know (kid friendly is good i have 2, 7 and 12 or not, i know where some great coffee shops are). Hope you are having a good week.
I'm with E- I felt sad that this little vacation had to end. But it was probably the perfect length- you can stay longer next time when O is a little older. I love the photo of the kids, and I love the one with your daughter and mom! Sounds like a really nice time.
