Has been very social! My brother, sister-in-law and niece had a few more days staying with my parents before they headed home, so we had some lovely final catch ups with them. It really filled my cup to spend some quality time with them all (it had been a long time since I'd spent more than a couple of days with them), and especially to see all the cousins playing together, they all got on so well and it was SO cute.

Then we had my parents close friends (who are like an Aunt and Uncle to us) come to visit the next day, again staying with my parents, they are staying a week. We saw them for a lovely dinner on Friday night, again on Saturday night for pizza, and the kids loved all the doting attention from everyone. It was so great to catch up. We also saw my close friend and her boys for a big playground park play on Saturday afternoon - again the kids had so much fun together. The weather was PERFECT - gee I love Sunshine Coast winter.

Al had headed to the Rugby with his brother and Dad on Saturday afternoon in Brisbane (British and Irish Lions versus the Wallaby's if anyone follows Rugby - I don't really - haha). They had a fantastic time (so good for Al to spend this time with them), and stayed the night at his sister's new place, about 40 minutes drive from us. I drove the kids there the next day. Al's parents were both staying there, as well as his brother, so the kids had so much fun! It was lovely and a glimpse of the future because in a few months his parents are moving up and living there too (it’s a dual occupancy property). So wonderful that the kids will have BOTH sets of grandparents plus their Aunty and uncle living only a drive away. I went for a solo walk in the sunshine along the local beach and it was so calming - ahh. We headed home late afternoon.

So many wonderful social activities, but the downside is we came home on Sunday afternoon to a messy house - NOT my favourite thing. In general, work and school started back last week, so everyday life is BUSY. E is doing Scouts AND Acro now, we plan to start O in swimming lessons again soon, and then my uni semester teaching is starting this week, and Al has a lot going on at his work too. So keeping the house and the schedule organised is feeling very important as we enter this season. Anyway, last night I did manage to at least finish the laundry, clean the kitchen, write our weekly schedule up on our fridge whiteboard, and change the bed linen while Al did the evening routine with the kids, so at least a few home tasks were done as we enter another week!

How has everyone else's week been? Has it been as social as mine or a bit more relaxing? I hope you've also been enjoying nice weather! Happy Monday all :)

You did have a super social weekend! So fun! But I know the feeling of being out and about so much that you didn’t get much adulting done. We did not have any social plans this weekend but kept plenty busy. Phil did golf on Friday at a friend’s work tournament so he had fun doing that.
